Welcome

Proudly serving Veterans, military families, and the Monroe community since 1968

Ward Roney Jr. VFW Post 7511 has been a proud cornerstone of the Monroe, Washington, community for more than five decades. Named in honor of Ward Roney Jr.—a local hero and survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, the Frozen Chosin, and Pork Chop Hill—the post stands as a living tribute to service, sacrifice, and leadership. Since its founding in 1968, VFW Post 7511 has embodied the mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars: to foster camaraderie among U.S. veterans, advocate for those who served, and support their families and community.

Our Legacy of Leadership and Service

From its earliest days, VFW Post 7511 has been a leader among Washington VFW posts.  It was the first Purple Heart Post in the state and played a vital role in helping Monroe become a Purple Heart City and Snohomish County achieve Purple Heart County status.  The post also helped the Monroe School district and Evergreen Health become the first in Washington to Purple Heart designations.

With a commitment to community and veterans' advocacy, Post 7511 has earned All-State and All-American honors six years in a row, reflecting exceptional leadership and dedication to the VFW mission.
